“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” - Colossians 2:9 (KJV, emphasis mine)
In last week’s blog, we embraced the extraordinary but especially eternal truth that God elected to enter a place of residence that was not made by hands but instead by the hand of God.
“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands.” - Acts 17:24 (KJV)
The Scriptures tell us that our bodies are miniature temples where the magnanimous and majestic God has moved in to stay and never vacate!
Now that we have established the Presence of God in our lives, let’s turn our attention to the Person and Power of Jesus Christ. According to the Scriptures, Jesus Christ is God. In order to walk in the power of Jesus Christ, we must completely embrace the biblical truth that Jesus Christ is indeed God incarnate. He is the eternal One clothed in humanity. Even God the Father called Jesus, “God”.
“But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” - Hebrews 1:8 (KJV)
Again I implore you, deeply loved of God, to attempt to apprehend this truth with respect to God in you, specifically the person of the Lord Jesus Christ!
Let’s look again at our opening text. It turns our attention to the fact that all the fullness to address each area of emptiness in our hearts and souls is embodied in Jesus Christ. The self-induced vacuums that are truly vices can only be filled by the One that gives victory and fullness! This Person is Jesus who lives in you!
Embracing this truth offers satisfaction, fulfillment and victory through Jesus Christ. However, many sincere and committed followers of the Lord live empty lives that are devoid of joy, faith, strength and courage. They are lives caught in confusion and personal conflict as opposed to clarity, purpose and personal peace.
Granted, I completely understand the challenges and outright oppressive and entrenched evil that is ever-present in this world. However for the follower of the Lord we must look to and live in this truth:
“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33b (KJV)
I encourage you to closely examine and strongly consider the speaker and His proclamation! I am going to the well to tell you again and again that the Person that enjoys victory and is greater than anything this world can dish out lives in you!
So tell yourself: “Get out doubt! Disappear fear!” Make the decision that disquieting emotions, set-backs and disappointments will no longer keep you locked in despair. Instead, you can be liberated through this truth to declare that our God is in control! The reason that we can communicate this truth with convincing and concrete clarity and conviction is because the God in us has said so!
I encourage you to listen to this truth, look to Him, be loyal and let Him lead so that your life will lift up the God that the world needs to see!! Let's accurately advertise the One that abides in us is the Almighty God, capable of all things!
