The Licentious Lips of Lying - Part Three
“Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.” Proverbs 12:22 (KJV)
In this week’s blog, we will conclude our three-part series on licentious, lying lips. In the economy of God people with lying lips are never without consequences. Lying lips are extremely lethal. As a matter of fact, there are some somber and excruciating examples from history that remind us of the repulsive, revolting and reprobate results of lying lips.
The uttermost lethal lie that launched the world into ruins is notorious for being the very first lie transpired on this terrestrial ball.
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die” Genesis 3:4 (KJV)
The serpent (Satan) told Eve a lie because he said that there was no danger in disobedience, no consequence for conceit. By nature all liars are rebels. The most iniquitous insurgent of history shared that which he knew, by miserable experience, to be a flat out and fatalistic lie. He had wickedly wrecked the law of creation and had found out the hard way that he never will be successful in his sinister sedition. But yet he tells our first parents they shall not die. Even today in this century he champions falsehoods in which those who are foolish follow. Satan tells them that, though they sin, they shall not die; but God, tells them that the wages of sin is always death.
In our century an evil malignant man and murderous monster, Adolf Hitler, let loose his licentious lying lips and as a result led the world into war. In 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain met with the German chancellor in a last drop of diplomatic discourse to prevent a war. Adolf Hitler assured Chamberlain that war would be avoided if Czechoslovakia would negotiate a redrawing of its borders. Chamberlain was satisfied and told Parliament that Hitler "means what he says." Needless to say, Hitler did not follow his agreement.
There is no doubt that this was one of mankind's most devastating deceptions. This falsehood (lie) facilitated the start of World War II and led to the death of millions. And like all liars, Hitler was able to engage in deceit without any degree of remorse.
The word of God is very clear about the eternal consequences for those that love their lying lips.
- God has and always will hate lying.
“These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-20 (KJV, emphasis mine)
- Perpetual punishment awaits those who possess, practice and promote lying lips.
“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.” Proverbs 19:5 (KJV, emphasis mine)
“A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.” Proverbs 19:9 (KJV, emphasis mine)
- Liars will not be allowed to enter in the Eternal City of God (New Jerusalem).
“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.” Revelation 21:27 (KJV, emphasis mine)
- God will not be permit an unrepentant and dedicated deceiver/liar to remain in His presence.
“He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.” Psalm 101:7 (KJV, emphasis mine)
Deeply Loved of God: I pray that you labor to loath licentious lying lips. Our lips are loyal to Lord. Loyal lips lead others to the Truth that sets them free!
