TRUST Is A MUST!

I open this week’s blog with the lyrics of not only a popular but a powerful piece of Christian music from Lauren Daigle. Daigle is an American contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter from Lafayette, Louisiana. Her song “Trust in You” truly captures a transcending principle that is paramount for a pure, persistent and personal relationship with God.

When you don't move the mountains
I'm needing you to move
When you don't part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When you don't give the answers
As I cry out to you
I will
trust, I will trust, I will trust in you

Did you notice that in triune spirit she declares “I will trust”? Yes, Trust is a Must!

Christ Gives Liberty; Churchianity Locks You in Legalism

For this week’s blog, I like you to consider with me a word or term that you will not find in the dictionary. However, I submit to you that this word is a consistent characteristic of a carnal church. The word Churchianity is a word that I am employing for our edification. It is a word that reflects a church that is rigid in rules and rejects the truth of a real relationship with the Lord made possible by His grace and gift of eternal life through Christ’s death and resurrection.

An Attitude for an Audience with GOD

When my wife, Gloria, and I were raising our three boys, we established standards for appropriate behavior in our house.  The boys knew that in order to enjoy the benefits of our home, their words and actions needed to be acceptable in accordance with our criteria.  Gloria and I had the right to establish these standards because it was our home.

Rescued from the Rip Current of Rebellion

I remember my very first experience with a rip current. It was in June 1995 at Fort Lauderdale Beach. My wife and her sister accompanied me on some business with the Broward County School System. Before engaging in my business with Broward schools, we elected to entertain a beach excursion. We were not as enlightened as your everyday beach person so both the environment and the experience were new to us.

Power For Victory Versus The Prison Of Victimization

Victimization can take many different forms.  We can experience satanic victimization which includes spiritual oppression and possession.  We can experience victimization as a result of secular philosophies, principles, pressures and practices.  And finally, we can experience victimization at the hands of our self as a result of fleshly strongholds and deceptive hearts.  Before one can process the path of personal victory and liberate oneself from satanicsecular and self victimization, it is absolutely essential that you have personally possessed, processed, and practiced the Power of God.  What does scripture say about the Power of God?

Fixed In The Facts Of Freedom

Consider the following scenario: Last evening you elected to deviate from your routine behavior. You retired for the evening earlier than normal because you were not feeling like yourself. You sensed a few slight but not significant symptoms of what you believed to be the beginning of a cold.

The Egregious Poison Of Envy

For those of us that are contentious of our personal hygiene and presentation, we probably spend a significant amount of time each day preparing ourselves (our bodies) for the day’s activities. Whether our plans include work or visiting our house of worship, we went into preparation mode.

Making Your Belly Your Bible

Maybe you have heard the adage that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.  But what happens if a woman is a poor cook or perhaps the man is a better cook? Or what if she is trying to win the affections of a world renowned chief from Paris?  As you can see to travel down this path in hopes of winning someone’s heart is misguided and problematic. To be frank: it is fleshly.

A Precious And Powerful Privilege (Serving The Lord God)

I submit to you that the first eighteen years of my existence here on earth I majored in ministering to myself. I will not subject you to the details or sensationalize a sinful and willful walk with a lost world. But God who is rich in mercy found me in my morbid, lost condition. With His matchless and marvelous grace saved a wretched wanderer waist-deep in the world! For the last thirty-six years and counting, Lord willing, I am ministering for and to the Master.

God is Doing a New Thing!

We all enjoy new things that bring us happiness: new people, places and things. There is something invigorating and refreshing about newness. We typically try to avoid what is stale, dull and dry! Like, who wants toast that is SDD – stale, dull and dry? I prefer my toast hot, soft, saturated with butter and blessed with a lot of strawberry jelly! Did you know that the manna that came from heaven had strawberry jelly on it! No that's the PBKV – Pastor Bernard King Version.
