Plugging In to the Prince of Peace this Holiday Season - Part Two

“The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.” - Psalms 29:11 (KJV, emphasis added)

Question: have you been sufficiently rocked by Jingle Bell Rock? At this point, we should know what Christmas should look like. And if you keep on dreaming of a white Christmas you may actually be in a coma without even knowing it.

How are you doing spiritually, emotionally and physically in the midst of this Holiday Season? Are you worn out? Are you eagerly anticipating removing all the lights you used to decorate your house? Are you looking forward to the prospect of languishing in a long line to return the presents that don't fit or work? Have you recovered from all the activities and venues that caused you to max out a 24-hour day? Maybe you need a vacation to recover from your vacation.

Our text encourages us that the strength we need and the peace we need will come from the Lord. Consider with me five action points that will activate the Peace of God in your life for the remainder of the Holidays as well as the entire New Year that will soon be arriving.

Practice to be preoccupied with His purposes, not yours

Enter into His presence with consistency through devotion, worship and prayer

Abide in His love, power and truth

Capture your thoughts and bring them under the subjection of the LORD

Exercise the fruit of the Spirit in all of your endeavors

By believing the truth of Scripture, you will plug into the Prince of Peace. It is then that you will truly light up the world!
