Change that You Can Biblically Believe In

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJV)

“Change We Can Believe In”
Can you recall the real changes that emerged in your life when you elevated Jesus Christ as Lord, embraced His truth as your absolute authority, eliminated your ego and self-sufficiency, and experienced His love and power in your life?  If you have made this transition as required to become His follower, there were indeed some immediate as well as subsequent changes in your life.

In my life when I came to the Lord in March of 1981 on the campus of Syracuse University located in Syracuse, New York, the most powerful changes rested in the personal areas of purposes, pleasures, priorities, plans and practices. There was a song that I used to hear as a young man in my church that quite frankly had no relevance or the reward of ministry in my heart. But when I experienced the changing power of the Spirit of God my mind raced back to that song I heard on Sunday morning.

I feel a change in my life
I feel a Spirit, way deep down inside
I feel a God that's very much alive
I feel a change in my life, yes

Verse 1
I belong to a church
For a very long time
Every chance I got
I would always try to get by
I was a member of the choir
And a member of the usher board
But in my life you see
My life was very bored
But Jesus came into my life one day
And I know there's a very big change
I feel a change

Verse 2
I feel a change
Way deep down inside
I feel the spirit all over me
Now when I go to church
There's no more game or show
Church, I'm very real
For the Lord has made me whole
Jesus is real in my life today
Now I know there's a very big change
I feel a change

By faith in Jesus Christ, I now know that I was experiencing the Holy Spirit’s presence and work in my life and God the Father graciously saved a very lost soul! I was dead. But God is not dead, He is surely alive because He is living on the inside, not some elegant or extremely expensive edifice or even stuck in a store front!

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)

“No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.” 1 John 4:12-13 (KJV)
