Absolute Assurance of Saving Spirituality 2

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians 1:6

A Christ centered concept of an absolute assurance of saving spirituality is completely connected to the mind of Christ by the means of mercy and the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Saving spirituality (faith) in Christ accentuates the mind of Christ in an individual’s reasoning and thereby cements the confidence of his faith. Therefore we absolutely know that our faith is forever ours.

1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

When we have secured a saving spirituality, we will live a life under God’s influence. The Holy Spirit’s presence and power clarifies and cements the confidence that we possess in him because he purchased and possessed us.

Being Confident according to scriptures means to trust, or to be assured.

From our opening text we can see that an excellent confidence arrested the apostle’s heart when he assessed the Philippians spirituality. You might ask what was it about the Philippian believers that advanced his confidence? It was that God would most certainly continue to completion the good work He had begun in them. That good work was their salvation. And what makes the assurance of our salvation absolute is the source of our salvation!

Therefore, just as Paul had no doubt that God would continue in the Philippians what He had begun to do in them with hearts filled with saving faith we holdfast to the same truth.

It should never matter the set of circumstances or conditions that those who we know or don’t, saved or unsaved experience i.e., moral failure, lawlessness, termination of matrimony, sickness, persecution, or for that matter even what we personally experience in a world anchored in the spirit of anti-Christ, WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT NOTHING WILL CANCEL OUR SALVATION.

I conclude this entry with a colossal christian classic. Lock in on some of the lyrics that our Lady of faith Fannie Crosby penned and powerfully points us to the Absolute and Blessed Assurance of our Saving Spirituality.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!

O what a foretaste of glory divine!

Heir of salvation, purchase of God

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

Perfect submission, all is at rest

I in my Savior am happy and blest

Watching and waiting, looking above

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

Not a sermon just some thoughts

For the Glory of God,
