Sharing Each Other's Storms

“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 (KJV)

God is generously gracious to give us life in this world. However, we must also be aware that in this world we will wrestle and sometimes walk into trails or storms that we did not prerecord in our individual itineraries.

Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ said; “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33b; KJV).

Storms can also be referred to as burdens. The boulders of burdens know no barriers. And as someone said, “If it’s not one thing it’s two.” Burdens are usually connected to chaos, crisis, and conflict. Simply stated, they are the worst wrestling match of mayhem and are intensely motivated to move you away from the truth and master you with lies about your Father God.

Consider with me this Christian construct: God knows that we need Him. He also knows that we need people to come along beside us and bear the burden with us. What a wise God we have! Process this passage in Proverbs that points to our need of a partner in storms or burdens.

“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17 (KJV)

You see, beautiful body of believers, the Lord does not want you to walk alone when the world falls on top of you! According to the Strong’s Concordance, in the context of our text, the word “bear” means to take up with the hands in order to carry or bear or to put upon one's self (something) to be carried.

Question: Are you willing to tie yourself to your brother’s or sister’s trial or are you too tied up in your thoughts or tasks to touch someone with the love of Christ? Select to share your shelter in a time of storm and be bold to bear each other’s burdens.

For the Glory of God,
