God’s Greatness And Grace From The Graveyard

“That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.” Psalm 83:18  (KJV)
 
Recently, my wife Gloria’s sister went home to be with the Lord. Gloria’s loss of her sister handed a lot of us some heavy heartbreak as heartbreak is usually hooked to death. However, a compassionate and good God ministered to us and held us with His good hands (which are always better than All State)! We held on to His hands as they helped our hearts of hurt shout “Hallelujah!” because her sister knew the Lord as her Savior. In addition, Gloria’s sister, Donna, was no longer held captive to cancer but was finally set free from the shadow of sickness, sin and death.
 
Looking back at the gravesite service, I see the greatness of God! It was a beautiful sunny day. While we were all being bitten by a winter breeze, our hearts were warmed by the faithfulness our Father God! For all of us that enjoyed and embraced Jesus as Lord the many graves there did not generate hearts of gloom but glory to the greatness and grace of our God!  Granted, the sting of Donna’s death gripped her Dad, three sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, many siblings and relatives but again, God’s grace was plentiful. His grace places us in a position to praise Him with hearts possessed by faith and not fear. Therefore, because we process the pain of loss in the power of the Spirit, we know that there is no one higher than God. Hear what the scriptures say:
 
“Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.” Jeremiah 10:6 (KJV)
 
“And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible [Awesome] God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:” Nehemiah 1:5 (KJV)
