When Parking in Your People Group is Problematic
“There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.” John 4:7-9 (KJV, emphasis added)
Hello, blog followers and family! For this week’s blog, I endeavor to embark on a ship of discourse that has dominated our current news cycle. By the Good Lord’s grace, I am praying to process and position this topic in a manner that is put forward in faith and in the Spirit of God. This is an essential objective because what is done in the flesh will never please our Father God. Moreover, it is always unprofitable in the economy of our Eternal God.
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:6-8 (KJV, emphasis added)
In addition, I must purpose to police my passions. Emotive pontificating is energized by a deceitful heart that is polluted by pride and carnality. It erupts from an evil and spiritually sick source. Furthermore, it is consistently complicit with cultural conditioning that is corrupted and contrary to the cause and conscience of Christ.
“And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Mark 7:20-23 (KJV, emphasis added)
Therefore, I am targeting an audience that aligns themselves as citizens of the kingdom of God.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3 (KJV, emphasis added)
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Romans 14:17 (KJV)
Our country has become figuratively combustible with deep-seated sensibilities like discrimination, racism, human rights, injustice, and identity politics. It has also combusted literally, as multiple businesses and establishments situated in our urban centers across the nation have been set ablaze by violent protesters with a criminal connection. To make matters worse, a malignant and metastatic media manipulates the masses with corrosive and deceitful discourse that promotes divisiveness along ideological, political, and racial lines. These are the machinations of that maniacal Monster who is the enemy of God and Man: Satan.
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44 (KJV)
I have offered to you my assessment as to what is happening. Now I invite you to consider with me what I believe was a catalyst for our country’s state of contention, confusion, and chaos. I respectfully submit to you that the current state in which our country finds itself is the result of a degenerate and deviant display for the dignity of life. A white Minneapolis police officer engaged in evil law enforcement by executing (murdering) a black man named George Floyd. Akin to the launching of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, our nation exploded into unprecedented protests, riots, violence, looting, and arson that have resulted in the loss of life of civilians, police, and law enforcement agents. The thunderous outcry for justice, attention to police brutality and racial equality is shaking the foundations of our nation with serious seismic implications.
Question: As citizens of the Kingdom of God, how should we process and engage in the conversation that consumes our culture? What measures should we take to address what is in front of us? It starts with remembering who you are in the eyes of God as well as to what Kingdom you belong.
Join me next time as we tackle this topic of race with Christ-like courage.
Remember, God is the giver of life. Therefore, all lives matter!
