Wrapping Our Heads And Hearts Around Worshiping God - Part Two

“O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” Psalm 96:9 (KJV)

In last week’s blog, we declared that if we define a biblical believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as an individual who has been regenerated and redeemed from his or her resolute rebellion, he or she was instantly made a worshiper of God. Consequently, it is critical for believers to be clear in comprehending what constitutes biblical worship.

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 (KJV)

In the Scriptures, Jesus also makes it emphatically clear about who should enjoy our worship!

“Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Matthew 4:8-11 (KJV, emphasis added)

We must powerfully protest and remove ourselves from any personplace or thing that seeks to seduce us to salacious worship. I submit to you that we must be proactive and committed to cultivating a holy and hearty display of worship to inoculate us from idolatry.

In Psalm 29:2, the author calls us to give the kind of worship that God rightly expects and what is worthy of His name: “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness” (KJV).

Whenever our fleshly motives are infused in our worship it becomes grotesque and not gorgeous! Therefore, to place us is a consistent pattern of producing worship that is pleasing to God, consider with me the following closing points:
Who we want to spend time with the most relates to worship.
Opening our mind and hearts to obey God is connected to worship.
Reverence, reaching out and resting relates to worship.
Submission and serving is connected to worship.
Honoring and what we hold paramount is connected to worship.
Initiating interest and intimacy is related to worship
Praise and the purpose of living relates to worship.

Whomever and whatever has the whole of our heart reveals our worship!

For the glory of God,
