Eternal Emancipation
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Romans 6:6-7
By now I hoped that you had an exceptional day of worship during yesterday’s Resurrection Sunday. As I continue to reserve some time for rich reflection about how our Lord’s Death, Burial and Resurrection (D.B.R) aka the GOSPEL rewarded all of us who obeyed the Gospel with eternal life and absolute exemption from the second death, I continue to find myself being caught and carried away by clouds of joy! In addition to a glorious grip of gratitude. The following passages should faithfully fuel our joy as well as generate a gratitude that Glorifies and blesses God.
1 Corinthians 15:1-3 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Revelation 2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
According to the Webster 1828 Dictionary the word Emancipation is defined as the following: The act of setting free from slavery, servitude, subjection or dependence; deliverance from bondage or controlling influence; liberation; as the emancipation of slaves by their proprietors; the emancipation of a son among the Romans; the emancipation of a person from prejudices, or from a servile subjection to authority.
In our next time together, I invite you to continue with me our exploration of what I referenced as Eternal Emancipation for those who have elevated and embraced Jesus Christ as Lord, God and Savior.
Not a sermon, just some thoughts.
For the Glory of God,
