Dressed to Kill (the Flesh): Part 2

Dressed to Kill (the Flesh): Part 2

I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem. Job 29:14

In our B.C. (Before Christ was Lord of our lives) days we dressed ourselves in a wardrobe befitting with walking in the world. I submit to you that we all enjoy a Rags to Riches story. We were all dead in our trespasses and sins because we became transgressors against a Holy God’s law. As a result, we clothed ourselves with a disposition of (Rebellion-Against-God’s Scriptures).

Isaiah 53:11-12 He shall see of the travail of his soul and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore, will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

However, we became rich when our Lord Jesus Christ clothed himself in our RAGS

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

This truth and reality should move us to raise our hands and raise our voices and shout HALLELUJAH regularly!

Many of you that are familiar with my blogs and teachings know I often apply acrostics for successful application of God’s truth.  So being consistent I offer you the acronym, RICHES, to reveal and reinforce how rich we are in Christ!

Relationship with God.

Innocence and not guilty before God.

Christlikeness (Mind, Heart, and Future Body)

Hope and future.

Eternal-life with God.

Spirit of truth.

So again, we are blessed with a real Rags to Riches story!

Before I close, I need to reveal what those rags look like. Paul presented a clear picture of the clothes that come off the shelf of self and Satan.

Colossians 3:8-9 But now ye also put off all these, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

Remember the word of God calls us to put on Christ to look like Christ.

Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

Next time we will consider what the clothes of the Divine designer look like.

Not a sermon, just some thoughts.

For the Glory of God,
