ELECTORAL ENGAGEMENT THAT ELEVATES THE ETERNAL GOD

ELECTORAL ENGAGEMENT THAT ELEVATES THE ETERNAL GOD

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Tomorrow is the 2024 Presidential Election, and it is projected that well over a 100 million votes will be cast (Popular vote).

In our last Presidential Election, we had an electorate that had to endure a global coronavirus pandemic. Notwithstanding the global coronavirus pandemic, which many projected would result in a considerable drop in participation, surprised the electorate by setting a record number of votes.

In the 2020 election it is reported that both Joe Biden with 81million votes and Donald Trump with 74 million votes, shattered the previous mark of 69 million votes for Barrack Obama in 2008.

Historically Congress cemented January 7, 1789, as the date by which states were expected to choose electors for the country's first-ever presidential election. A month later, on February 4, George Washington was elected president by state electors and took an oath into office on April 30, 1789.

In the present the United States still utilizes the Electoral College system, which currently gives all American citizens over the age of 18 the right to vote for electors, who in turn vote for the president. The president and vice president are the only elected federal officials selected by the Electoral College instead of by an immediate popular vote.

Through 2020, there have been 59 presidential elections. Tuesday November 5th, 2024 will mark the 60th presidential election for our country.

The heart of this week’s blog is an exhortation to engage in this year’s election endeavoring to elevate the Eternal God. That is Glorifying and magnifying the Lord with your selection.

In Psalms we are called to magnify and exalt the Lord and his name or reputation.

Psalm 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me and let us exalt his name together.

Magnify means to grow, become great or important, promote, make powerful, praise, magnify, do great things.

Exalt means to rise, be high, be lofty.

We can exalt the Lord with our vote against the culture. Abortion, Transgenderism, LGBTQI Marxism, socialism, DEI and Critical Race Theory ideology, all energize and advance the antichrist spirit.

When we consider our opening passage in its broader context, we see that Paul’s command to do all to the glory of God connects to cultural idols, the Christian conscience, and how we conduct ourselves in a world wrapped in wickedness.

Therefore, my exhortation this week is to encourage you to be resolute as a citizen with dual citizenship in both the Kingdom of God and as a citizen of the Republic of the United States of American. Our Pledge of Allegiance ends with’ AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH ITS STAND ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL’. The framers of this country glorified God with Judea Christian ethics.

In closing, engaging in an election that elevates or glorifies God will be robust in faith, His truth, His heart and mind, His Spirit, and the word of God.

Not a sermon just some thoughts
