Power for Victory Versus the Prison of Victimization

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4 (KJV)

Victimization can take many different forms.  We can experience satanic victimization which includes spiritual oppression and possession.  We can experience victimization as a result of secular philosophies, principles, pressures and practices.  And finally, we can experience victimization at the hands of our self as a result of fleshly strongholds and deceptive hearts.  Before one can process the path of personal victory and liberate oneself from satanicsecular and self victimization, it is absolutely essential that you have personally possessed, processed, and practiced the Power of God.  What does scripture say about the Power of God?

“And said, ‘O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?’” 2 Chronicles 20:6 (KJV)

“God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.” Psalm 62:11 (KJV)

“O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.” Psalm 68:35 (KJV)

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38 (KJV)

We need the Power of God to free us from the force of Satan and the force of the flesh. Both of these abominable agents throw us into the prisons of victimization. Consider the following definition for victim. You will see a connection between the destructive and deceptive dynamic duo of Satan and the flesh as it relates to victimization.

A victim is “a person who suffers from a destructive or injurious action or agency or a person who is deceived or cheated, as by his or her own emotions or ignorance, by the dishonesty of others, or by some impersonal agency.”

Here is the bottom line! To be set free from the imprisonment of victimization, you must:

  1. Possess the Person and Power of Jesus Christ by experiencing spiritual conception as described in John 3:3: “Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’” (KJV)

  2. Process the Person and Power of Jesus Christ by thinking with the mind of Christ.

  3. Personalize the Person and Power of Jesus Christ by internalizing it and taking ownership of it.

  4. Practice the Person and Power of Jesus Christ by applying it in faith and obeying His leading and truth.

  5. Be profoundly persuaded by the Person and Power of Jesus Christ.

I believe that in order to be a conqueror, you must be conquered by Christ! As a victor in Christ we vanquish all vices!! It is His word and the Presence of His Spirit in your life that has convinced you that your innate indulgence in the form of sinful and willful rebellion against Holy God (Romans 3:23) was terminated when you personally trusted by faith the transcendent and incomparable conquest and provision of Christ Jesus the Lord’s death on the cross. It is only when we repent, receive and respond to the Gospel, (the death, burial and resurrection (DBR) that grants eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, fellowship and the victory over Satan, flesh and the world as well as the victimization that they bring.

It is my prayer that God by His amazing grace will cause you to internalize and apply the truth that I share with you today. This truth will enable you to abandon the vices of victimization and the depths of defeat and ascend on the stairs of victory.

For the Glory of God,
