Prayer is Power for our Inner man.

Prayer is Power for our Inner man.
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,.15 Of whom the whole
family in heaven and earth is named That he would grant you, according to the riches of his
glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your
hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Ephesians 3:14-17.
For over a decade several members in my church family have joined me in dedicating the first
21 days in the month of January for a time of fasting and prayer. As we purpose in our hearts
to be more than ordinary servants for and Extraordinary God, we undoubtedly acknowledge the need for God’s power in our lives daily. Our flesh- (fallen nature) the world (unbelieving
mankind) and Satan (the unabashed enemy of God and his people) will join forces as terrible
triad of tyranny, treachery, and torment for our souls.
Galatians 5:16 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these
are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity
with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh
about, seeking whom he may devour:
Subsequently, when we as a church family embark on our yearly 21days of fasting and prayer I
have found it spiritually beneficial to examine the prayers of Spiritual leaders and Saints that
we see in scripture.
Their example of prayer is extremely encouraging because they bless us to witness their
petitions, intercessions for others, relationship with God, as well as the evidence and substance
of their spiritual growth.
Our opening text reveals the Apostle Paul’s prayer for the Ephesian believers. It’s important to
note that Paul penned this prayer in prison. (talk about dying and thinking about others when
you’re dumped in dire straits) It is largely acknowledged that Paul wrote this prison epistle
during his first Roman imprisonment. The exact dates he wrote each of the prison epistles is
unknown, however, the two-year period he spent under house arrest in Rome has been tied to
the time between 60–62 AD. In his time of physical incarceration, Paul did not mentally or
mentally lock himself in personal incarceration. He did not take a vacation of victimization. He
continually prayed for God’s people.
From his prayer in Ephesians 3:14-16 I submit the following thoughts regarding the power of
prayer.
*When we pull from the power of prayer, we will enjoy a life influenced by spiritual, mental,
and emotional strength.
*Prayer promotes spiritual strength and might with in the inner man,
The “inner man” is another way of explaining the spiritual aspect of a person. The “outer man,”
by contrast, would be the visible, external aspect of a person.
*Prayer can produce a powerful inner man that is robust in faith and Courageous in trials and
strongly solidified in his love.
*Prayer will promote the practice of pulling from the power, peace, purposes, and practices of
the Lord.
*When we pull from the power of prayer it will forward the fact from scripture that Christ lives
in us by faith and not our feelings.
In closing, Purpose to get the inner man Pumped with Prayer or you will be too puny to protect
yourself from the three-headed bully. (The flesh-world-Satan)
Not a sermon just some thoughts.
