The Power of the Word Promotes and Positions Us in Praise to God - Part Three

My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness. Psalm 119:172

In Part one of this series (The Power of the word Promotes and Positions us in Praise to God) I shared that the soul that is consistently committed to praising God as opposed to pouting to God, will invite the presence, peace, and power of God in their life as well as promote His witness among our peers in Christ.

Today our text encourages us to explore and examine what subjects consistently capture our conversations plus what strikes our souls to sing?

According to an article in the (Neuroscience of Everybody's Favorite Topic) authored by Adrian F. Ward; most people's personal thoughts and experiences may well be their favorite topics of conversation.  And on average, people spend 60 percent of conversations talking about themselves—and this figure jumps to 80 percent when communicating via social media platforms such as Twitter or Facebook.

Furthermore, Mr. Ward’s forwarded the following question. Why, in a world full of ideas to discover, develop, and discuss, do people spend most of their time talking about themselves?  He then attributed the answer to recent research that suggested a simple explanation: because it feels good.

However, the psalmist was not feeling oriented but faith oriented. He proclaimed, I will speak and send a shout of praise about God’s word.  (Psalms 119:172a)

In scripture we find several passages of praise for God’s word.

Psalm 56:4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Psalm 56:10 In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.

The word of God emphatically echoes that even God exalts and gives praise to His word.

Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Did you also observe from our opening passage that the psalmist presents his reason to praise God?  He rejoices about the righteousness of God’s commandments and the integrity of His instructions. (Psalm 119:172b)

Now I invite you to consider with me the powerful and profound portrayals of the precepts of God’s word which is presented in Psalm 19:7-11.  This will assist you in GETTING YOUR PRAISE ON!

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Did you discover and take a deep dive in this delightful and dynamic description of God’s word that drives us to deliver praise that is worthy to God!  Assuming that we all arrived at God’s Pool’s side of blessing found in Psalm 19:7-11   join me next time as I point out some of the precious stones of provisions from God’s word which should prompt immediate and heart felt praise for what  the word of God  provides.

Not a sermon just some thoughts
