The Three signs that suggest that you are a spiritual Stooge
How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Proverbs 1:22
If you were born in the decades of the 1930’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s you would be fabulously familiar with the Colossal Comic Act of the Three Stooges. Motion pictures has showcased dozens of current comedy teams over the past hundred years; however, none have lasted as long in contemporary culture as the Three Stooges.
The comedy trio's short films were amazingly popular with audiences worldwide in the 1930s and 1940s, and the group paralleled their previous success on television in the late 1950s and the 1960s.
The Stooges’ comic style was bold and blatant and was exemplified by animated aggressive acts such as slapping, punching, eye-poking, and hair-pulling, all amplified by hyperbolic and hilarious sound effects. In addition, they would frequently assault one another with hammers, saws, and an assortment of sharp and blunt objects. They would be broken in this Woke culture today. Progressive and authoritarian ideologies harass, hurt and hold hostage humor today.

I find it noteworthy that the Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a stooge as one who follows or serves another without thinking. And on the big screen the Three Stooges always found themselves embracing and engaging in deeds devoid of thinking which consequently caught them in conduct that was profoundly preposterous.
I submit to you that our opening scripture showcases three dynamics of spiritual stooges. (Simple ones/silly and naive) (Scorners /inflated mocker) and the Fool/stupid one.
If we are all honest, I am absolutely convinced that at some point in our lives (especially in our years when we were arrested in adolescence) we were equal to a committed cast of the three stooges of Silly-Scorner and Stupid.
According to the text, Stooges if you will, love being silly and scorners covet or take pleasure in mocking and fools can't stand knowledge.
These three stooges will deliberately discourage and cancel out the cry of wisdom. What does the word of God say about the stooge?
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Spiritual stooges reject and ignore wisdom and not grasp the goodness and gift of correction. This refusal to be redirected will make them ripe for some serious consequences.
Proverbs 1:22-32 declares that when concerns and crisis come, as they certainly do to everyone, wisdom sarcastically refuses to help sinners. Wisdom’s chuckling at calamity seems cruel. But this simply means that stooges spurned lady wisdom when she had called them, and they had declined her invitation. Now the stooges will be served with the silence and dejection that they delivered to Lady wisdom. They would call but she would not answer. When a fool/stooge who has previously refused wisdom attempts to start over and purposefully walk the path of wisdom his attempts are of no avail. Wisdom rejected cannot be recovered after she has retracted her invitation.
In conclusion, standing and sharing the stage with the three Stooges (Silly, Scorner and Stupid) is never nothing to be laughing about.
