A Declaration of Restoration for God's People: Thoughts To Walk Through From Isaiah Chapter 2
A Declaration of Restoration for God’s People: Thoughts to Walk Through from Isaiah Chapter 2
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. Isaiah 2:2
The prophet Isaiah opens his prophecy as a divinely directed district attorney making an argument for God against his rebellious children, Israel. Their rebellion has reduced them below the wisdom and intelligence of an ox or donkey.
The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider. Isaiah 1:3
It's notable that both animals, ox and donkey, were domesticated and naturally used for service. And the Prophet Isaiah pointed us to the fact that these domesticated animals understood their masters and ownership. Contrast that to God’s own children Judah. They forgot and deliberately distanced themselves from the truth that God owned them, and they were to love and serve Him.
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, Deuteronomy 10:12
God called them corrupt, rotten to the core children. Spiritually they were full of smelling and oozing sores, compounded by a severely sick head and heart (strikingly similar to our current pastoral and political leadership). To complicate matters more, their country and cities are dilapidated and destroyed. Their leaders are labeled as Sodom and Gomorrah and to make matters worse, God found their religious rituals repulsive! (Isaiah 1: 11-14)
Did you ever consider that all church communities that champion carnal and man-centered worship services are sickening and smelly tour Savior and God? In addition, when we are stricken with secular sores and ill-fated ideologies, we are desperately sick in the head and heart spiritually. Our composite and considerably complicated condition can only be cured by Christ, the great physician!
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. Matthew 4:23
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mark 2:17
When we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, we bleach our souls in the blood of the lamb. He supernaturally removes all stains and sins from our souls.
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18
God will restore His relationship and righteousness and His rule with His people. Join me next week as we continue to walk and welcome the truth of God’s DECLARATION OF RESTORATION.
