A Sanctified and Spirit Led Separation Part 2
A Sanctified and Spirit Led Separation: Part 2
Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God. Psalms 119:115
From my last blog offering we noted that Psalm 119:115 gives us a Holy handle on the heart of the psalmist. He did not want his convictions and commitment toward his God to be a casualty caused by communion and connection with evil doers. (BAD-COMPANY).
Today we will consider the spiritual skillset of a Sanctified, and Spirit led separation. A Sanctified and Spirit led separation starts with a Christ like discernment. Exercising a Christlike discernment is crucial to prevent being captured by the wrong crowd.
A Christlike discernment is exclusively enjoyed by those who personally possess the presence of the third person of the Godhead (Holy Spirit). In addition, the Holy Spirit controls and gives us the capacity to secure discernment that is consistent with the mind of Christ. Consequently the Holy Spirit’s role and relationship in our lives is a result of HIS regenerative work on our minds and hearts.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.
Therefore, It is the Holy Spirit that gives us the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16) which delivers the discernment essential to examine and eliminate any evil influence. (people, places, and things).
At this juncture let us spiritually scrutinize some satanic and seductive influences that we need to suspend and separate from.
Malignant and misleading ministers: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
When you are sitting under a misleading minister or spiritual leader you will be subjected to their seduction and deceptive doctrines.
The Gossipers/whisperers:
Likewise, if you gather with a group of gossipers you will gravitate to gossip. According to the word of God the words of a whisper (Gossiper) will deeply wound a soul.
Proverbs 18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
The Rageful and violent:
The word of God even calls us to not keep company with an angry and violent and controlling person because you will adopt their attitudes and actions because you will be in a trap that tortures your soul.
Proverbs 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways and get a snare to thy soul.
Therefore, we are called to remove ourselves from these insidious influences with some sanctified and spirit led separation. In our next time together, we will examine some additional negative influences that call for a sanctified and spirit led separation.
