Masterly Musings for Marital Harmony

This month, May 7th, 2023, my wife Gloria, and I celebrated 35 years of matrimony. All praise and honor go to Him who sits on the throne of Heaven and the earth is his footstool. I absolutely acknowledge the ascending assessment made by a writer who was wonderfully influenced with a wealth of wisdom when he shares about a man being marvelously matched with his forever soul mate.
Proverbs 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour the LORD.

Nevertheless, I am quite positive that there are some that share a different sentiment than what the passage specifies. There may be those who posture the following position as it pertains to their marital relationship. “God do me a favor and take my spouse and place them in somebody else house.” Several of you may have even evaluated the progression of your union and thereby proclaim that your marital relationship parallels several types of rings. The ENGAGEMENT RING-WEDDING RING and the SUFFER -RING.
Perhaps you and your spouse secured a Justice of the Peace to officiate your marriage ceremony. However, the beauty, blessing and bliss of the day is a rich remnant of the past and now your martial relationship has transitioned into territorial daily disputes that direct the both of you to the battlefield. And now you need support and strategies from a Secretary of Defense. You both are caught in contemptuous conflict. In addition you both have employed WMD’S (Weapons of Marital Destruction) to advance your position and win the war over who you believe to be the enemy.
Your campaign of conflict will considerably change when you both realize that you have not targeted the true enemy and you are not sleeping with the enemy. According to the word of
God Satan aka the devil is God’s enemy and your enemy.
Ephesians 6:11-12 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Revelation 12:9a And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.
Now that we have identified the enemy, we will now get our directives for Defense of our marriage from the LORD of HOST(ARMIES). I encourage you to join me next week as we
consider SEVEN DISCIPLINES TO ASSIT YOU IN DEFENDING YOUR MARRIAGE.
Remember what God has placed together let no one separate. (Devil, demon, or a disobedient heart).
