Possessing Paid in Full Status. (P.I.F.S)

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by
whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of
his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power,
when he had by himself purged
our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Hebrews 1:2-3

I hear the Savior say,
Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all in all
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

As I continue to be caught in last week’s glorious commemoration of our Messiah’s Death Burial
and Resurrection Celebration. (The D.B.R aka Gospel) I commence this week’s blog with what is
often considered one of the many transcending traditional hymns “Jesus Paid It All” written in
1865 by Elvina M. Hall.

The hymn completely captures the quintessential truth that our Lord Jesus Christ’s death by
means of crucifixion absolutely absolved our sins.

1John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin,
we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for
our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Subsequently, we should all cry out with voices of victory and cement ourselves in this Faithful
fact which is forever fixed in truth. All our deliberate and deviant debts of sin are P.I.F.S. which
stands for PAID IN FULL STATUS.

1 Peter 2:22-24 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was
reviled, reviled not again;
when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him
that judgeth righteously:
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we,
being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

In addition from the word of God we know that a centurion and others was caught in crippling
fear with what they heard and witnessed.

Matthew 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the
earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son
of God.

And one of the things they heard was a triumphant cry that transcended the darkness.

There were three crosses at Calvary but it was the cross with the body of our Lord which was
positioned between the two other bodies on the cross on that cried out “Tetelestai!”
interpreted “It is finished!”

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed
his head, and gave up the ghost.

However, “Tetelestai” enjoyed another meaning in the first century. It was also an accounting
term. When a bill was paid, it was generally stamped with the word “Tetelestai,” meaning Paid
in Full.

Beloved we all have P.I.F.S when we placed our trust in the transformative transcending and
triumphant work of Jesus Christ death Burial and the resurrection. His Sacrifice suspended all
our sins.

“Oh praise the one who paid my debt, and raised this life up from the dead…”
