Walking In Wisdom With Those Void Of Wisdom - Part Two
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” Colossians 4:5-6 (KJV)
In last week’s blog, I invited you to consider with me the essentiality of exercising wisdom with those in this world who are void of wisdom. Those without wisdom in this world refers to the condition of men and women who walk with a will which consequently cancels communion with God. It is no secret that the secular humanist and their sycophants are absolutely attached mentally, emotionally, and especially spiritually to an anti-Christ spirit. This is unequivocally evident in our political, judicial, educational, medical, scientific, and entertainment systems with their attitudes and actions against our Judeo-Christian ethics. In addition, consider the contributions of the multi-headed leviathan of liberal churches and seminaries who are in sync with a condescending sentiment on the veracity and infallibility of Scripture.
What does the Word of God say?
“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” 1 John 5:19 (KJV)
“Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” 1 John 4:1-6 (KJV)
Our opening text identifies individuals that are without. Without means out of doors and defines those governed by the spirit of the world. Today, we will continue to turn our attention to our individual call to walk in wisdom with those who are outside of wisdom. According to Colossians 4:5-6, consummation in Christ is connected to our private, prayer and public life or PPP. So, before we walk in wisdom with the world, we must put ourselves in a position to exercise personal wisdom or discernment which is inseparable from our devotional life. One cannot walk in wisdom with no communion or connection with Christ. God calls us to walk, that is to live, and regulate one's life. What we do with the time God gives us, our tongue and what we tell those that have questions concerning our commitment to Christ is connected to our W.A.L.K.:
WILL: We walk in wisdom when our will is consistently secondary to God’s will for our lives.
ACTIONS: In all circumstances gracious or grievous our actions are in alignment with God’s attitude.
LOVE: We love God before ourselves and love what God loves.
KNOW: We know him personally and He knows what is best for us.
Our witness of wisdom will be essential in winning those who are without wisdom in this world.
For the Glory of God,
