The Master’s Makeover of Our Minds
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2 (KJV)
On December 11, 2002, a brand-new reality television series launched on ABC called Extreme Makeover. The show brings attention to the actions of ordinary men and women engaged in "extreme makeovers" which may involve them subjecting themselves to plastic surgery, exercise regimens, hairdressing and wardrobing. As a result of the incredible transforming external makeover, the participants are lavished with “oohs” and “ahhs” and a floodgate of tears of joys from their significant love ones. Thus, they experienced an extreme makeover by a team of medical, fitness, cosmetic, and fashionable experts. These were individuals that enjoyed the knowledge, the means, and the power to alter the appearance of the participants.
Likewise, an all-knowledgeable, wise and compassionate Creator, “Father God,” gave us an extreme makeover in order for us to enjoy eternal life. However, we do not have to feel as though we have been made over to possess eternal life. We can know that we have eternal life.
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:10-13 (KJV, emphasis added)
The text clearly communicates that we can know (we can center our conscience in the truth) that we know God. We must continue to cultivate this truth in our minds. The word “mind” is mentioned ninety-two times in the King James Version of the Bible. Therefore, it demands our attention. Furthermore, it is in the mind where we maintain the influence of the Master’s makeover. Consider the following statement: “The mind is like a theater where all the drama happens 24x7. Whether you enjoy or become upset, it all happens up there. And thus, it becomes the most impart of our body and personality.” - Dr.Shirang Bakhle
Have you ever considered that from the time you awake to when you retire and return to your slumber your mind is steadily working? It never stops. Therefore, it is of the upmost importance that we make it a deliberate discipline to examine our minds and place the maintenance of the Master’s makeover in His hands. Only the Master (God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ) can give us a makeover in our minds. What saith scripture?
“O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.” Jeremiah 18:6 (KJV)
“Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” Isaiah 43:7 (KJV)
There are a lot of things made in the USA and China, but our minds and destiny are made by God!
For the Glory of God,
