Moving from a Blessed to Busted Nation

Happy New Year, my beloved blog supporters! The year 2020 brought us COVID-19, a contemptible campaign that has resulted in the separation of families, people of faith, institutions, and industries. Now the year 2021 has not missed a beat by adding a contemptuous collision of cataclysmic consequence. Our constitutional Republic continues to condescend into chaos and corruption. Powerful, polluted, and pernicious political activism has eviscerated the constitutional rule of law as it relates to the election process. It is my opinion that our election was attacked by a devious population that is dedicated to the deconstruction of our Nation.

A Precious, Powerful, Perfect And Permanent Present

Over the last week, I have been in pursuit of the perfect present for my Christmas Pollyanna. The game Pollyanna is connected or tied to our western Christmas tradition “Secret Santa”. Basically, groups or a community of people are randomly assigned a person to whom they will give a gift on Christmas. The identify of the gift-giver is a secret not to be disclosed.

A Conscience Consideration Concerning a Christmas Tree

Just curious: did you put up your Christmas tree yet? You still have about eleven days to grace your home with a glorious evergreen. On December 1st I went to my favorite place to pick up our family’s traditional Christmas trees. The perfect tree for me must be full, symmetrically strong, splendidly scented, and gloriously green! Evergreen trees are marked by their distinctive display of green leaves throughout the entire year. In addition, the needle-like leaves from the past season are shed more slowly until after the new foliage has been completely constructed.

More Christ in Christmas

A couple of years ago around Christmas I was blessed by a wonderful testimony that turned my attention to a tremendous truth taught in the word: C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S. At the close of our weekly Wednesday night prayer meeting and bible study one of our precious seniors shared with me how she noticed something special in the word Christmas while participating in our Finishing Strong Seniors ministry. One of the seniors was adorned in seasonal, sweet-looking sweater with the words Merry Christmas in huge letters! The individual that shared the story said “She shouted ‘Oh my goodness! I have never seen that before! I love Christmas even more because of what I see in the word Christmas! It is a personal message for me!’” Her rich revelation rested in the last three letters in the word Christmas (mas). She is not of Latin descent but she declared that the last three letters in the word Christmas (mas) means “more” in Spanish. Therefore we should want more Christ in Christmas. Personally, I am proclaiming: “That will preach!”

Unwelcome News that Became Good News

I hope and pray that you enjoyed an exemplary and easy-going Thanksgiving that turned your attention toward giving gratitude to God. Now we turn from the turkey to focus on God’s Gift to mankind. For today's blog, I am directed to touch on the true meaning for the season because I want you to know (like I know) the real meaning of Christmas: it’s all about Jesus!

Gathering Gratefulness

To say that the 2020 has been extraordinarily epic is an unprecedented understatement. The events that have enormously exploded and engulfed everyone of us spiritually, mentally, politically, legally, socially, physically, financially, educationally, and institutionally have influenced me to identify the letter “U” in the United States of America as UNBELIEVABLE! We have had UBIQUITOUS conflict, chaos, confusion and displays of cataclysmic insurrection such as burning, looting, and destruction of property. To complicate things even more, citizens of this country have been contaminated by COVID, which has caused death and heartbreak, school closures, and colossal changes in how we do life, entertainment, business and church. Currently, we are accosted by an abominable presidential election. It is my position that this election is fixed in a foreboding and formidable fog of fraud. However, I am believing and praying that God’s thunder will deluge this country with a torrent rain of truth and renew and restore our country from being dumped in a desert of distrust and deceit. Be that as it may, the Bible calls believers to give thanks in everything.

The Incarceration of Intellectualism

In our last entry we examined the seduction of sentimentalism. Specifically, how human sentiment that is not scrutinized and subjected to the Spirit of God will seduce a soul to supplant the Lord’s leadership in his or her life. For this week’s entry, I entreat you to consider the thought of the incarceration of intellectualism.

The Seduction of Sentimentalism

How often have you heard someone say one of the following statements?
I know that this is right because it feels right.”
“My gut feeling is guiding me to what is good.”
“This is true because my feelings tell me that it is true.”
“I know what scripture says, but this what I feel.”

Absolute Truth Is Tied To Godliness

Have you ever exercised an exploration for the Truth? In a culture that consistently capitulates to relativistic concepts, truth is considered fluid or incarcerated in ideologies of indifference. Try proclaiming truth on a university campus and you will be caught in the consequential clash of world views. You’re likely to be subject to scorn and derision.

Honoring The Holy One With Your Vote - Part Two

An examination of American history advances and anchors our position that the framers of this nation took stock in the significance of the Scriptures. They founded this nation with faith in the God of the Bible. Many of the founding fathers had Christian backgrounds and submitted statements supported by faith. Consider Patrick Henry. For the most part, many of us remember Patrick Henry’s explosive declaration, “Give me liberty, or give me death!” Many believed that Patrick Henry purposed to be remembered for his 1765 Stamp Act Resolves that placed the colonies in a position to establish their independence.
